Stories of the First World War – Radio Shropshire
Radio Shropshire is continuing its series about Shropshire people during the First World War. Beginning on November 7th the stories will be broadcast at 8.15 each morning and repeated during the drive time programme – usually between 5 and 6 pm. The stories reveal many aspects of Shropshire life at this time. The next group will include:
Harper Adams and Louisa Jebb – the story of the ladies who drove the tractors
The Somme Tunnel – the Bog Mine job creation scheme
Edward Hotchkiss – Craven Arm’s first Aviator
Shrewsbury POW Camp and the secret post box
Cleobury Mortimer and postman Simon Evans
